Instructions for use

The module is powered with a stable 12 V DC source. The supply pins are made by screw terminals marked "+12 V" and "GND". Unlike an ordinary relay, it has only two terminals. When the sensor reaches a certain temperature, the relay is switched on or off, depending on the module configuration.

On the module is mounted a red LED indicating the state of the relay (on or off). When the LED is on, the relay is switched on. Otherwise, the relay is disconnected. This LED is useful to know if the relay is properly engaged depending on the configuration you have chosen.

Connect the temperature sensor.

If you supply the module and the temperature sensor is not connected, an "LLL" error message appears on the segment display. The error message automatically disappears when you connect the sensor.

Set trigger temperature.

To set the trigger temperature, press the "SET" button and then use the buttons marked "ADD" and "DEC" to increment or decrease the trigger temperature. The setting step is 0.1oC. Once you have chosen the desired temperature, you must press the SET button again to confirm the selected temperature.

Configuring operating parameters.

The module has 6 operating parameters, which you can modify by holding down the "SET" button for 5 seconds. The parameter of the selected parameter to be changed will appear on the screen (from "P0" to "P8"):

  • "P0" : The first parameter can be set to "C" or "H". When "C" is set, the relay will lock when the set temperature is lower than the temperature measured by the sensor. This mode is useful in making an air conditioning. When "H" is set, the relay will engage when the set temperature is higher than the ambient temperature, being useful in constructing a heating device.
  • "P1" : The second parameter is the deactivation threshold. For example, if "P1" is set to 2oC and "P0" is "H", then the relay will switch off when the set temperature is 2oC lower than the temperature measured by the sensor.
  • "P2" : This is the maximum setting for the tripping temperature, which is a way of protecting against accidental setting of a too high temperature.
  • "P3" : Represents the minimum setpoint of the tripping temperature, which is a way of protecting against accidental setting of a too low temperature.
  • "P4":  This parameter is an offset value (with 0.1oC step), being useful for correcting sensor faults.
  • "P5":  The 5th parameter is the relay trigger delay time, the step being 1 minute.
  • "P6":  This function is an alarm that triggers when the measured temperature reaches the set value.
  • "P7":  The P7 function has the role of blocking the configuration.
  • "P8": The  last function is used to reset all settings.

Possible values of configuration parameters:

  • "P0":  C/H
  • "P1":  0.1 - 30oC
  • "P2":  -45oC to + 120oC
  • "P3":  -55oC to + 105oC
  • "P4":  -10oC to +10oC
  • "P5":  0 - 10 minutes
  • "P6":  ON (-55oC - 110oC) or OFF
  • "P7":  ON or OFF
  • "P8":  ON or OFF
