Servo Expansion for Onion Omega

Overview

This expansion board contains an extension with 16 PWM channels useful to control any device whose operation is based on this type of signal, but especially of the servomotors because there is a specialized connection for them.

The main use of this product is the control of actuators. To control them, the board provides a direct connection to the type of connector on most actuators and allows the connection of up to 16 such motors. Also, the default frequency of the PWM signal given by the expansion circuit is 50Hz, generally suitable for any servomotor.

Even though it is suitable for servomotors, the board can also be used to control the number of revolutions per minute of DC motors, but also the brightness of the LEDs.

In order to be able to supply a large number of actuators from the expansion board, it is recommended to use the power jack to supply the required current. However, it is recommended not to exceed the maximum voltage of 12V. 5V power supply from Onion Omega is also required to supply the logic circuits.
