Technical specifications

  • Compatible with the following battery types: LiPo, LiFe, Li-Ion, NiMh, NiCd
  • It can check:
    • between 4 and 7 NiCd / NiMh cells
    • between 1 and 7 Lithium-based cells
  • Lithium battery display modes:
    • The voltage of a cell
    • Total voltage
    • The lowest voltage of a cell
    • The highest voltage of a cell
    • The difference between the lowest and highest voltage
    • Remaining capacity (%)
  • Display modes for NiCd and NiMh batteries:
    • Total voltage

Instructions:

The product is not powered separately, being powered directly from the batteries that are checked. The device distinguishes between Lithium-based batteries or NiCd / NiMh batteries.

NiCd / NiMh batteries (for RC remote controls)

The NiCd / NiMh batteries connect to a special port, marked "NiCd" and "NiMh". The only display mode available for this type of battery is the total voltage.

The battery can be connected as follows:

Lithium batteries (with wires):

The connection of Lithium-based batteries (LiPo, LiFe, Li-Ion) is polarized. Capacity measurement is done through the balance connector.

The circled pin in the picture attached below is circled the grounding pin, a pin that helps you respect the polarity.

The "TYPE" button is used to select between LiPo, LiFe or Li-Ion batteries.

The "CELL" button is used to display the voltage of each cell. By repeatedly pressing this button, the measured cell is selected, and it is displayed at the top of the screen with Sx (where x represents the cell number).

The "Mode" button changes the display mode:

  • Total voltage
  • The maximum voltage of a cell
  • Minimum voltage of a cell
  • The difference between the minimum voltage and the maximum voltage

Example of measuring a 2-cell LiPo battery:

  • Total voltage measurement: The following information can be seen on the screen: number of cells (2S), total voltage (7,654 V) and battery capacity (42%).
  • Measuring the voltage of a cell: The following information is displayed on the screen: the selected cell (1S), the cell voltage (3.827 V) and the cell capacity (42%).
  • Maximum voltage of a cell: The useful information displayed on the screen is: the cell with the maximum voltage (1S), the maximum voltage (3.827 V) and the capacity of the cell with the maximum voltage (42%).
  • Lithium batteries (without wires):

The connection of the Lithium - based batteries to this measuring device is made with the help of the male-female jumper wires.

CAREFUL!!! Connecting the battery to the device is polarized !!!

To measure the voltage but also the capacity of a cell you must connect it as follows:

  • The positive terminal (circled in red) is connected to the pin marked "1" on the measuring device.
  • The negative terminal (encircled in black) connects to the pin marked "-" on the measuring device.

After connecting the battery to the device, set the correct options for the devide. Make sure the battery type is set as: LiPo, LiFe or Li-Ion. All operating modes are similar to those shown for Lithium-based batteries.
